Acrylic Roof Coatings
Water-based, elastomeric acrylic coatings used to restore, protect and reflect on weathered roofs — a cost-effective way to extend service life and reduce rooftop heat gain.
What acrylic roof coatings are
Acrylic roof coatings are single-component, water-based elastomeric coatings applied over a prepared and primed roof surface. They cure by evaporation to form a flexible, reflective film that helps shed water and reduce solar heat gain on the roof.
They are most often used to restore aged single-ply, metal, modified-bitumen and previously coated roofs where the deck is sound but the surface has weathered. Suitability always depends on the existing assembly, its moisture condition and slope, which are confirmed during a project review.
Role in the system: Base, intermediate and reflective finish coats within a restoration assembly, used with the appropriate primer and, where needed, reinforcement at seams and details.
At a glance
Request guidanceWhen to consider acrylic roof coatings
- Restoring a weathered but structurally sound low-slope or sloped roof
- Adding a reflective, lighter-colored finish to reduce rooftop heat gain
- Extending the service life of an existing roof rather than tearing off
- Positive-drainage roofs where standing water is not a persistent condition

Compatibility is always confirmed by substrate identification and adhesion testing on each project.
